At ZOE International, we have adopted some values that undermine everything we do: passion, excellence, gratitude, love, humility, integrity, and unity. We highly value people who have these same values and are passionate about people and the fight to end modern day slavery. Our friends at The Underground Church and Word in Motion Dance Company are prime examples of people who have a heart to reach our generation with the love of God. Last year, they went on a short-term mission trip to Thailand and were able to do some special outreaches using dance, DJ skills, singing, and skateboarding as tools to share “The Good News” and work with the ZOE Child Rescue team to spread human trafficking awareness at local schools in the Chiang Mai area. The Underground Church team represents all of the values ZOE has adopted, especially passion and excellence.
The pastors of The Underground Church successfully worked in the Hollywood Dance Industry for years and many of the team members still work in the entertainment industry. By utilizing their creative gifts to introduce people to the love of God, they are able to reach many who have never stepped foot inside a church. They continue to train and equip their team members in excellence in their arts and teach them to use their gift for God to reach their generation.
Word in Motion has performed at local high schools, events, and conferences in the Los Angeles area, and is planning more outreaches this year. They have joined the fight to stop human trafficking by hosting “Step of Hope,” an annual benefit dance concert to raise awareness about human trafficking and finances for ZOE. They plan to go back to Thailand soon.
Do you have any talents or gifts you believe can be used as tools for God and to spread human trafficking awareness? Maybe you like to cook or bake? Maybe you like singing, playing sports, writing letters, knitting, or hosting parties? All of these things can be used to bless someone. Everyone can do something. If you enjoy music and dance, reserve August 1st in your calendar and invite a friend to “Step of Hope.”
