Making A Difference In Los Angeles

ZOE Participates in CRU’s PowerPacks Event

On Saturday, August 2nd, Vickie McCoy, ZOE’s Manager of Aftercare, and Jennifer Magtoto, one of ZOE’s volunteers, went to an event put on by CRU (formerly known as Here’s Life Inner City). The event is called PowerPacks where organizations come together to fill backpacks with school supplies. At the end of the day, the organizations take them back to their communities and pass them out to children in need.

It’s far more than just a backpack full of school supplies like pencils, paper, crayons, and other items—it’s about God’s love reaching entire families and transforming their future. ZOE was able to give 40 of these backpacks to DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services) to help the girls who have been rescued from human trafficking in Los Angeles.

This simple gift is giving the child resources and conditions to succeed. They are being empowered to have a great start to their school year.

It takes a village to make a lasting change. One organization alone can make some change, but working together can show the love of Jesus in a powerful way!

If you would like to help ZOE make a difference in the lives of child trafficking victims, please donate here.
