ZOE Celebrates Love, Light, and Life
In the midst of the darkness there shines a great light and the darkness will never be able to extinguish that light. (paraphrase of John 1:5)
Dealing with the issue of human trafficking can make you feel like you are living in the darkest and most evil of worlds. But not at ZOE. We are assured the Light that came into the world will never be extinguished and we choose to live in that Light and celebrate life!
There was much celebrating at ZOE on a recent trip I took to Thailand!
There have been several ZOE weddings over the past year and it was such a joy to be able to attend one of them while I was there; the wedding of Kham and Go. From her early teenage years, Kham grew up at ZOE and went on to attend ZOE Ministry School (ZMS) where she met Go who was also attending ZMS. Both have a love and a passion for serving the Lord, and I have personally witnessed that passion in both of them. I have participated in many outreaches Go was a part of, and his joy and enthusiasm as he shares the gospel is contagious. Kham has a special place in my heart, as I was able to watch her grow and blossom into a beautiful woman of God. She often serves as my translator when I share at ZOE and it has been such an honor to stand next to her as we teach the Word of God together. These two certainly know how to celebrate life, and together we are confident that they bring the Light of the world to the people of Thailand.
This time of year, the celebration of life would not be complete of course without a Christmas party! It was a joy to gather with the ZOE missionaries before I headed back to the USA to attend their annual celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. There was much joy and laughter, as this family of 27 adults and 23 kids played games, sang Christmas songs, exchanged gifts, and honored our Lord Jesus Christ. They are an incredible group of people who are working hard to drive back the darkness by shining the light that fills their hearts. They are truly an inspiration to me and have reminded me that the darkness can never extinguish the light.
I am making a choice to celebrate the Light and invite you to join me.
