A Trip of Many Firsts!

Guest Blogger, Jessica Ramsay (Jessica was a part of a short term missions trip that visited our Children’s Home in Thailand this past August)

This trip to ZOE was filled with many firsts for me. The first time traveling as a short term missionary, first time traveling to Thailand, and the first time traveling outside of America. Little did I know just how life changing these two weeks were going to be.

I ventured on this journey hungry to see how powerful God truly is and what a difference He is making in Thailand; both of which completely exceeded my expectations. I was instantly blown away when being greeted by a cheering squad upon exiting the airport in Thailand, and that was just the beginning!

I fell more in love with Jesus each day, and learned that ZOE is making a difference not only in Thailand but all over the world! I was beyond blessed to be traveling with an incredible team that bonded quickly, supported one another, and strengthened one another in prayer. I was also blessed to meet several missionaries that have dedicated themselves and their families’ lives to Christ and serving with ZOE. The greatest blessing of all, was being able to love on the ZOE children by playing games, hosting barbecue dinners, teaching English, sharing in worship service, and answering their many questions!

We also went outside of the home to do outreaches for a village and for school children. Our purpose was to spread the gospel, and out of 142 children, we saw 126 of them accept Christ as their Savior. Despite the early mornings, jet lag, humid weather, and tired feet, I am so grateful that God blessed me to go on this trip!

To love on so many children, meet amazing missionaries, eat plenty of Pad Thai, make lifelong friendships, serve our Lord, and spread the gospel; my life is changed, and I will pray for the day that God sends me to Thailand again!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5 NLT
