A Modern Day Five Loaves & Two Fish Miracle in ZOE Mexico

We want to share this video testimony with you of a miracle that the ZOE Mexico team and our volunteers witnessed at the Guelatao Boarding School in Oaxaca, Mexico.

When ZOE Mexico celebrated Three Kings Day, a Mexican tradition where children receive gifts from their parents by bringing piñatas, gifts, and a special meal, something incredible happened.

Alberto, a volunteer who owns a small restaurant, donated food specifically prepared for 158 children. However, upon arrival, we realized the attendance was much higher than expected. Given the shortage, we told the volunteers they wouldn’t be able to eat so we could prioritize the children. At that moment, our cook prayed: “Jesus, let it be You who serves; let it be You who performs the miracle here.”

The result was amazing: Not only did every child eat, but they all had second helpings; the volunteers were fed as well, and in the end, there was even food left over!

Beyond the physical miracle, that day 98 children received Jesus into their hearts and were trained in child sexual abuse prevention and awareness.

“Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.  They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.  The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.” Matthew 14:13-21
