Equipping the Front Lines: How ZOE Is Strengthening the Fight Against Trafficking in Pennsylvania
ZOE recently partnered with North Star Initiative, a fellow anti-trafficking nonprofit, to help lead a regional training focused on fighting human trafficking in Berks and Lancaster Counties.
This wasn’t just another meeting, it brought together the people who are on the front lines of this issue every day: police officers, investigators, prosecutors, and advocates who support survivors. They spent time learning how to better identify trafficking, respond to victims with care and dignity, and work together more effectively to stop exploitation.
One of the most powerful parts of the training was hearing from a survivor who shared their lived experience. That perspective helped ground the conversation in reality, reminding everyone involved that this work is not just about numbers, but about real people whose lives are at stake.
So why does this matter to you as a donor?
Because real change happens when the right people are equipped to act. When law enforcement knows what to look for, victims are identified sooner. When responders are trained to care for survivors well, healing can begin. And when agencies work together instead of in silos, traffickers have fewer places to hide.
Your support makes trainings like this possible, helping ensure that communities are not only aware of trafficking, but prepared to respond to it in ways that lead to real rescue, real justice, and real restoration.
