Sharing Hope and Raising Awareness in Thailand
Recently, ZOE Leadership Training students and staff traveled to a rural community in Thailand for a two-day outreach focused on sharing the Gospel and helping children understand the dangers of human trafficking.
Working alongside ZOE’s Prevention Team and our Directors and team from Australia, spent time connecting with families in the community, praying with those they met, and sharing the hope of Jesus.
During home visits, teams walked throughout the community and met with local families. Although many adults were away working in the fields, there were still meaningful opportunities to listen, encourage, pray, and share the Gospel. Several people chose to put their faith in Christ.
That evening, the team hosted a special outreach gathering for children and families. The night was filled with games, performances, music, personal testimony, and a message of hope. More than 100 people gathered together, and many children responded to the Gospel.
One ZOE staff member was particularly moved by the people he encountered in the community, including individuals struggling with addiction and difficult circumstances. Having experienced similar struggles in his own past, he was reminded of the importance of seeing beyond someone’s outward appearance and taking the time to offer compassion and hope.
One encounter was with a man who appeared to be struggling and shared that he had not eaten for several days. The team was able to provide him with food, talk with him, and encourage him. That experience stayed with the staff member throughout the night.
Early the following morning, he and a student prayed for the community and for the lives of the young people they had encountered.
“People need to encounter Jesus. There is only one way for people’s lives to truly be transformed, and Jesus alone is the firm foundation for life.”
The following day, the outreach continued at a local school, where hundreds of students participated in interactive activities designed to help them recognize the dangers of human trafficking and learn ways to protect themselves and others. ZOE students also performed a drama about human trafficking, helping communicate an important message in an engaging and age-appropriate way.
Throughout the school outreach, hundreds of students heard the Gospel, and the team had opportunities to pray with many of them.
We are grateful for every person who helped make this outreach possible and for the opportunity to equip young people with knowledge that can help keep them safe while also sharing the hope found in Jesus.
Thank you for your continued prayers and generosity. Your support helps ZOE reach people with the Gospel and protect children from human trafficking around the world.
