We Have the HUB!

Right now, I’m sitting at a pink desk that is attached to the wall, in what will one day be a child’s bedroom at the HUB.

We’ve been working through lists of everything that needs to happen next – renovations, compliance, fit-out, and all the practical things needed to turn this property into a home.

Today, Andrea and I were talking about what it really means for a child to feel safe.

Safety isn’t just about the doors, the fittings, the furniture, or even the security measures.

It’s about how a child feels when they walk through the front door.

Do they feel welcomed?
Do they feel like they belong?
Do they feel that the adults around them can be trusted?
Do they begin to believe that this could be a safe place for them?

That is what the HUB will become.

Sitting here today, I still find it hard to believe that ZOE now has a property in Australia.

For years, this was something we talked about, prayed about and dreamed about.

Now I’m sitting inside it.

And you helped make that possible.

So before we get back to the lists, the renovations, the compliance requirements and everything that still needs to be done, I wanted to stop for a moment and celebrate this incredible milestone with you.

We have the HUB.

Thank you for giving. Thank you for praying. Thank you for believing in what could be possible for children here in Australia.

There is still a lot of work ahead of us.

But today, we simply want to say:

Thank you. You helped open this door.
